Agouti Pest Control Rat and Rodent Control

The rat is one of our most detested pests. The Brown Rat - also known as the Norway rat, Common rat or Sewer rat - is the most common in the UK. Rarer but still to be found, particularly around large ports, is the infamous Black Rat.

Rats are a major pest on farms, where warmth, food and a source of water are easily found. They usually enter buildings or homes through broken drains, adjoining buildings, gutter pipes, gaps or holes around buildings and reside in sub-floor and loft areas.

Once they have gained entry, they will cause a great deal of damage to the structure of the building, damage to the goods and contaminate food. Typical signs of rat infestation are droppings, urine pillars, hair, eaten or ripped food packets, gnawing of timber, plastic, wires etc, nests, scratching noises.

Numerous diseases are associated with rats which are dangerous to humans, the main ones being Weil's Disease, Toxoplasmosis, Typhus, Salmonella, E.Coli and T.B.

If you see rats in your garden or you think that you might have rats in your house, basement or loft you should consult an Agouti rat control expert to ensure you prevent a rat infestation before it becomes a problem.
